What are my options when the included AI runs out?
Choose cap-and-hold, pay-as-you-go with a cap you set, or a full shutoff — switchable anytime on the Billing page.
Three, and you can switch anytime on the Billing page:
- Cap-and-hold (default) — paid AI pauses; readers keep getting free-model answers. Your maximum is your plan fee plus any overflow already incurred this month.
- Pay-as-you-go — paid AI keeps running past your allowance, drawing your prepaid balance at your plan’s member rate, up to a monthly cap you set.
- Shutoff — all AI stops (including free models) until next month’s allowance arrives or you change the mode.
Good to know: the cap starts at one month of your allowance when you subscribe, and a plan change resets it to one month of the new plan’s allowance — your mode and any acknowledgment carry over. A cap-and-hold pause isn’t a funds problem, so topping up your balance doesn’t lift it; switching to pay-as-you-go or the next monthly reset does.
